Vera Henderson Income Tax Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of tax is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby makes the annexed Vera Henderson Income Tax Remission Order.

VERA HENDERSON INCOME TAX REMISSION ORDER

REMISSION

1. Remission is hereby granted of the tax paid by Vera Henderson under Part I of the Income Tax Act in the amount of $4,000.70 for the 2001 taxation year.

CONDITION

2. The remission is granted on the condition that Vera Henderson does not claim a deduction under subsection 120.2(1) of the Income Tax Act in respect of the amount remitted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

The Order remits $4,000.70 paid by Vera Henderson as income tax for the 2001 taxation year.

The amount remitted represents the additional tax paid by Mrs. Henderson due to unintended results of the legislation.
