PROPOSED REGULATORY TEXT

Notice is hereby given that the Governor in Council, pursuant to section 978 (see footnote a) of the Bank Act (see footnote b), section 463 (see footnote c) of the Cooperative Credit Associations Act (see footnote d) and section 531 (see footnote e) of the Trust and Loan Companies Act (see footnote f), proposes to make the annexed Prescribed Products Regulations.

Interested persons may make representations concerning the proposed Regulations within 30 days after the date of publication of this notice. PRESCRIBED PRODUCTS REGULATIONS

PRESCRIBED PRODUCTS

1. For the purposes of sections 448.3, 457, 566.1 and 574.1 of the Bank Act, sections 385.131 and 385.241 of the Cooperative Credit Associations Act and sections 434.1 and 442.1 of the Trust and Loan Companies Act, the following products are prescribed:

(a) deposit type instruments as defined in the Deposit Type Instrument Regulations; and

(b) principal protected notes as defined in the Principal Protected Notes Regulations.

COMING INTO FORCE

2. These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.
