LETTERS PATENT OF CONTINUANCE
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsection 34(1) of the Bank Act (Canada) that B2B Trust, a body corporate governed by the Trust and Loan Companies Act (Canada) and a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank of Canada, intends to file with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, on or after July 21, 2010, an application for the Minister of Finance to issue letters patent continuing B2B Trust as a bank, under the name B2B Bank, to carry on banking activities in Canada. Its head office will be located in Toronto, Ontario.
Any person who objects to the proposed continuation may submit an objection in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, on or before July 20, 2010.

ASSUMPTION REINSURANCE TRANSACTION
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with the provisions of subsection 254(2.01) of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company (“Manufacturers Life”) intends to make an application on or about July 6, 2010, to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada) to approve the reinsurance on an assumption basis of all of the risks undertaken under the policies of the Philippines Branch of Manufacturers Life to its wholly owned subsidiary The Manufacturers Life Insurance Co.
