Order Fixing June 30, 2005 as the Date of the Coming into Force of Certain Sections of the Act

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, pursuant to section 73 of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada Act, assented to on December 18, 2001, being chapter 29 of the Statutes of Canada, 2001, hereby fixes June 30, 2005 as the day on which sections 55 to 59 of the Act come into force.
EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order fixes June 30, 2005 as the day on which sections 55 to 59 of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada Act come into force.
The enactment amends the Marine Transportation Security Act to establish the jurisdiction and decision-making authorities of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada regarding decisions surrounding screening officer designations, assurances of compliance, administrative monetary penalties and refusals to remove notations concerning violations from personnel records.
