Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 651 of the Insurance Companies Act, that AEGON Insurance Company (U.K.) Limited ("AEGON") intends to apply to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions on or after August 27, 2002, for the release of its assets in Canada. LEGACY GENERAL INSURANCE COMPANY
TRANSFER AND ASSUMPTION AGREEMENT
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to sections 587.1 and 254 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) [the "Act"] that AEGON Insurance Company (U.K.) Limited ("AEGON") and Legacy General Insurance Company ("Legacy") intend to make an application to the Minister of Finance (Canada), on or after August 14, 2002, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, for the Minister's approval for AEGON to transfer to Legacy and Legacy to acquire from AEGON by way of assumption reinsurance all of AEGON's Canadian insurance business.
A copy of the portfolio transfer agreement will be available for inspection by the policyholders of Legacy and the policyholders of AEGON and Legacy at the offices of Legacy and AEGON at 80 Tiverton Court, 5th Floor, Markham, Ontario L3R 0G4, during regular business hours for a period of 30 days following publication of this notice.
