In accordance with paragraph 50(a) of SIMA, the Commissioner has suspended the investigation. The goods in question are usually classified under the following Harmonized System tariff numbers:
| Harmonized System tariff numbers | Harmonized System tariff numbers |
|---|---|
| 4823.51.00.00 | 9504.90.90.92 |
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal will suspend its inquiry into the question of injury caused by the dumped goods.

SPECIAL IMPORT MEASURES ACT
Stainless Steel Round Bar — Decision
On September 27, 2000, pursuant to paragraph 41(1)(a) of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), the Commissioner of Customs and Revenue made a final determination respecting the dumping into Canada of certain stainless steel round bar originating in or exported from Brazil and the subsidizing of these goods originating in or exported from Brazil and India.
The subject goods are normally imported into Canada under the following Harmonized System classification numbers:
| Harmonized System tariff numbers | Harmonized System tariff numbers |
|---|---|
| 7222.11.00.11 |
7222.20.90.11 |
| 7222.11.00.21 | 7222.20.90.21 |
| 7222.20.10.11 | 7222.30.00.11 |
| 7222.20.10.21 | 7222.30.00.21 |
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to the Canadian industry and will make its finding on or before October 27, 2000. If the Tribunal finds that the dumping and the subsidizing has caused injury or is threatening to cause injury, future imports of subject goods may be subject to an anti-dumping duty equal to the margin of dumping or to a countervailing duty in an amount equal to the amount of subsidy. In that event, all duties payable under section 3 of SIMA are hereby demanded, pursuant to section 11 of SIMA.
