CERTIFIED GENERAL ACCOUNTANTS' ASSOCIATION OF CANADA

Notice is hereby given that the Certified General Accountants' Association of Canada, a body incorporated by chapter 116 of the Statutes of Canada, 1913, will apply to the Parliament of Canada, at the present session or at either of the two following sessions, for a private Act to amend its Act of incorporation in order to change the name of the Association in English to the "Certified General Accountants Association of Canada"; to provide the Association with the French name "Association des comptables généraux accrédités du Canada"; to give the Association the short-form name "CGA-Canada"; to modernize the incorporating Act, including amending the Association's objects and powers; and to make such other technical or incidental changes to the Act as may be appropriate.

This day at 6:15 p.m., the Honourable Charles Gonthier, in his capacity as Deputy of the Governor General, proceeded to the Chamber of the Senate, in the Parliament Buildings, and took his seat at the foot of the Throne. The Members of the Senate being assembled, the Deputy of the Governor General was pleased to command the attendance of the House of Commons, and that House being present, the following Bills were assented to in Her Majesty's name by the Deputy of the Governor General:

An Act to establish the Parks Canada Agency and to amend other Acts as a consequence

An Act to implement the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty

An Act to implement an agreement between Canada and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, an agreement between Canada and the Republic of Croatia and a convention between Canada and the Republic of Chile, for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income
