Under section 9 of the said Act, Alberta Transportation and Utilities has deposited with the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and in the office of the District Registrar of the Land Registry District of Northern Alberta, at Edmonton, Alberta, under deposit number 9826218 (instrument number 982380262), a description of the site and plans of reconstruction of the superstructure on an existing bridge over Utikuma River at 110 km north of Slave Lake, on Highway 88, in front of lot number INE 11-81-9-5.
Written objections based on the effect of the work on marine navigation and on the environment should be directed, not later than one month from the date of publication of this notice, to the Regional Director, Canadian Coast Guard, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, 201 Front Street N, Suite 703, Sarnia, Ontario N7T 8B1.

TRANSFER AND ASSUMPTION AGREEMENT
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with the provisions of section 254 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), CNA Life Insurance Company of Canada ("CNA Life") and Continental Assurance Company ("CAC") intend to make an application to the Minister of Finance (Canada), after a 30-day period from the date of publication of this notice, for approval of the proposed transfer and assumption of the Canadian insurance business of CAC to CNA Life effective at 12:01 a.m. January 1, 1999.
The proposed transfer and assumption agreement together with a report on the agreement by the independent actuary will be available for inspection by policyholders of and group persons insured by CNA Life and CAC at the head office of CNA Life, 40 Weber Street E, 7th Floor, Kitchener, Ontario N2H 6R3, and the office of CAC'S solicitors, Blaney, McMurtry, Stapells, Friedman, 20 Queen Street W, Suite 1400, Toronto, Ontario M5H 2V3, during regular business hours for a 30-day period after the date of publication of this notice.
A copy of the proposed transfer and assumption agreement and the report of the independent actuary on such agreement will be provided to any policyholder or group person insured of CNA Life or CAC who makes a written request for same to either CNA Life at its aforementioned address to the attention of Jayne Watson or CAC to the aforementioned address of its solicitors to the attention of Susan Loblaw.
